The vocation to Marriage is a beautiful gift to the church and the world. It can be quite fragile and often needs a great deal of nurturing and support to help it grow and deepen throughout the years together. Marriage is like the body, there are times when it is going through growth and times when it is beset with illness, when it needs the support of family members, the church and friends to help it recover.
The United States Catholic Conference of Bishops has released a website in its effort to provide couples and parishes with the best resources to support and nurture their Sacrament of Marriage. We hope this section on Prescriptions for Marriage may assist you if you find yourself going through a difficult period of growth or challenge in the Sacrament of Marriage.
In addition to these resources above, remember that the greatest attacks against Marriage comes from sin and the effects of sin. Frequent confession is an important remedy for returning us to the innocence and grace in which God has created us and to which he calls us in the life of grace and holiness. Please call upon your Priests to assist you and know that they are always available to bring you the healing power of the Sacrament of Confession each week at the scheduled confessions, at Penance Services in the liturgical seasons of Easter and Christmas and by appointment. Please visit here if you need help in returning to confession.
