Baptism

Congratulations!  If you are searching here, chances are you have 1) recently been blessed with new life, or 2) you are inquiring to find out how to become Catholic.

1. Baptism of Children If you are interested in having your child baptized you will need to register to take a Baptismal Class.  Baptisms are celebrated twice each month on Saturday in the afternoon.  If you are interested in having your child baptized, please contact Sue Gammon in the parish office at (919) 570-0070 ext. 108 to register for class, or fill out the form below.  The parents or guardians must ask for the sacrament  and the godparents must meet certain requirements according to canon law.  They must be: at least 16 years of age, have received the sacrament of Confirmation, demonstrate that they are practicing Catholics by presenting a letter from their local Catholic Priest and  if married, they must be married in the Catholic Church.  They must be "Catholics in good standing".  This link to the Office of Catechesis for the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops will provide helpful information on the Sacrament of Baptism.

To access the "Baptism Registration" form, click here.

To access the "Sacramental Godparent" form, click here.

2. Baptism of Adults and Youth Those interested in entering the Catholic Church are invited into a process called the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults or the same Rite adapted for children.  To learn more about inquiry into the Catholic Church at St. Catherine follow the links entitled: Becoming Catholic or click here.
