The Sacrament of Marriage

Congratulations on your Engagement.  This is an exciting time in your life and a time where the church can assist you in preparing for the awesome vocation of married life.  Preparation for the Sacrament of Matrimony requires the couple to enter into formation so that they may be ready to assume the duties of marriage in mutual and lasting fidelity.

Requirements for Formation

Because of the seriousness of this commitment, the church requires:

• A minimum of six months of formation with a Priest or Deacon
• Assessment of Readiness for the Sacrament with Priest or Deacon
• Presentation of Sacramental Documents (Baptism etc.)
• Take the online FOCCUS instrument
• Attending the Pre-Cana Workshop (register here)
• Theology of Marriage Session #1 with Priest or Deacon
• Theology of Marriage Session #2 with Priest or Deacon
• Planning your Ceremony, Readings and Music
